Some transfer agents charge a big flat monthly fee and say “look how much we do for you, for just this”; while others say “look how little we charge monthly for each of these dozens (and dozens) of line item functions.” The bottom line is….the bottom line! How much do charges (fees and expenses) add up to monthly, and yearly? If it is more than what is competitive in today’s marketplace, it doesn’t matter how the charges are packaged….and promoted by the agent. Yes, scrutinize invoice details, but also don’t be afraid to have an expert (like us, perhaps) tell you if the numbers just “don’t add up.”
